Maintain refrigerated at 2-8ºC for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20ºC. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Application:
Tested by peptide-specific ELISA (1:1,000).
Immunogen:
KLH conjugated synthetic peptide comprised of amino acids 519 - 535 [SPFDKEAEGQFYNYFPN] of the human T-box 21 (TBX21) protein.
Accession number:
NM_013351
Description:
T-box transcription factors contain a novel type of DNA-binding domain, the T-box domain, which are encoded by an ancient gene family. Four T-box genes, omb, Trg, org-1, and H15, have been identified in Drosophila, whereas in mammals the T-box gene family has expanded, and 12 human T-box genes have been isolated. Most T-box genes have discrete spatial and temporal patterns of expression during embryogenesis. T-box 21 (TBX21) is the human ortholog of mouse Tbx21/Tbet gene and studies in mice have shown that Tbx21 is a Th1 cell-specific transcription factor that controls the expression of the hallmark Th1 cytokine, interferon-gamma (IFNG). Expression of human TBX21 also correlates with IFNG expression in Th1 and natural killer cells, suggesting a role for TBX21 in initiating Th1 lineage development from naive Th precursor cells.
