Buffers: Purified rabbit polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein G column and eluted out with both high and low pH buffers and neutralized immediately after elution then followed by dialysis against PBS.
Storage: Maintain refrigerated at 2-8ºC for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20ºC. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Application: Tested by peptide-specific ELISA (1:1,000).
Immunogen: KLH conjugated synthetic peptide comprised of amino acids 68 - 84 [FPDSKDSPGDVQRSKLS] of the human T box brain 1 (TBR1) protein.

Description: T box brain 1 (TBR1) is a member of a conserved protein family that share a common DNA-binding domain, the T-box. T-box genes encode transcription factors involved in the regulation of developmental processes. A similar protein has been disrupted in mice and shown to be critical for early cortical development, and causes loss of projection neurons in the olfactory bulbs and olfactory cortex. The C-terminal region this similar protein is necessary and sufficient for association with the guanylate kinase domain of calcium/calmodulin-dependent serine protein kinase. The mechanisms that regulate regional specification and evolution of the cerebral cortex remain obscure. TBR1 expression is largely restricted to the cerebral cortex, where during embryogenesis it distinguishes domains that give rise to the paleocortex, limbic cortex, and neocortex.
