Application:
Tested by peptide-specific ELISA (1:1,000).
Immunogen:
KLH conjugated synthetic peptide comprised of amino acids 26 - 36 [YRQVSNKLKKR] of the mouse "factor 8-associated gene A (F8a, HAP40)" protein.
Accession number:
NM_007978
Description:
Factor 8-associated gene A (F8a, HAP40) is a 40-kDa Huntingtin-associated protein which is likely to contribute to the function of normal huntingtin and is a candidate for involvement in the aberrant nuclear localization of mutant huntingtin found in degenerating neurons in Huntington's disease. HAP40 is encoded entirely within intron 22 of the factor VIII gene, is transcribed in the direction opposite of factor VIII and spans less than 2 kb . HAP40 is abundantly expressed in a wide variety of cell types but its biological function is unknown.
Alternative Name(s):
Huntingtin-associated protein, HAP40, DXS522E, factor VIII intron 22 protein
